We are interested in gathering feedback on the Picture Communication Symbols that represent Aotearoa New Zealand. If you have any feedback about existing PCS or have suggestions for new PCS, please complete the form below. You can also upload a picture or drawing of your suggestion.
We want to ensure that AAC users have access to Communication Symbols that are New Zealand specific so they can communicate all the things important to them: The culture, heritage, history, society, landmarks, fun, travel, people, and much more! We need your help to find what’s missing and to improve the options of PCSs for local users.
The file below is an Excel document that shows the details of the existing PCS that are specific to New Zealand and Australia. Please take a look to see if there are any PCS that you think might be missing or any that need improving. We value your input and look forward to your responses. We will compile the feedback and suggestions to create further discussions about possible future designs, and would love to hear from any AAC users, therapists or organisations that may wish to be involved in this. We want to have an open conversation about the crucial part that localised PCS have in communication.
